The Remains of the Day is a novel based in the setting of royal British mansion in 1989. The protagonist is the a butler who has devoted his entire life to his profession, with very, very little time to spare for a personal life. This title sequence emphasises on the setting of the mansion portraying the trapped feeling of the Butler in the household as he suffers so many personal losses at the cost of his profession. Time of the day portrayed is Dusk, which is often referred to be most beautiful time of the day and still known to make you feel distressed. This depicts contrast in butler personal and professional life as well as justifies the title 'Remains of the Day'.
