Chicago Public Library Foundation Awards

For the prestigious Chicago Public Library Foundation Awards (CPLF), an annual celebration of literary and civic leaders, I designed and animated the broadcast's opening sequence. Specifically, I created the core animation of falling books that stack to form the striking CPLF logo.

To bring this concept to life, I also contributed to the research and development for seamlessly blending 2D and 3D animation styles, ensuring the final piece stayed perfectly aligned with the event's bold, modern graphic identity.

Research and Development

2D to 3D

To bring the sequence to life, I established the foundational 2D motion in After Effects before transitioning the project into Cinema 4D to incorporate 3D depth. I helped create a s rig utilizing the Pose Morph in C4D, which allowed for precise morphing between the distinct award shapes This rig became a foundational tool used throughout the project, ensuring consistent shape-shifting across various assets.
